Article Planning

The main focus of my article is going to be an artist I have made up called "Ruby Tuesday" who will be an up and coming solo artist on the indie scene. The style of my article will be an interview and the main purpose of it will be to entertain, as well as informing people about the artist at the same time (this will be in the form of likes/dislikes and about the history). Despite being an interview, I would like it to be in continuous prose rather than question and answer, as I think it will make for a better read. It will be written informally in the first person and I have chosen to do this as I think it will be more entertaining and make the reader feel a part of the interview. This will therefore be more engaging and hopefully more appealing to my audience. The language that I will use in my magazine will contain some colloquial words or terms during the interview, as I want my artist to appear to be local and down to earth so that she will be more appealing to my audience. I want to write the interview as they've said it, in the dialect that my artist would speak as I think it makes them seem more human, and it makes readers feel like they are actually talking to the artist themselves; there is a kind of personal connection.
